12 Casa Molina - Artesanía Eladia Machado

Built by Francisco de Molina y López de las Doblas in the late sixteenth century. The house occupies a sizable U-shaped plot, foregoing the traditional architectural structure of Canarian houses after the seventeenth century: the quadrangle. The most unique feature is its façade, framed by a Renaissance stone doorway with Plateresque elements. The lower portion contains pilasters and a lintel arch with plant-based decorations and ovals, a similar layout to that of the upper portion, which includes interesting sgraffito decorations. The portal is finished with an elegant woodwork balcony. The remaining façade openings are the result of the different uses of the property and the corresponding extensions. Today it houses the “Casa del Turista”.
