The Farrobo neighbourhood arose in parallel to the architectural development of the city centre, and it was originally a sole proprietorship of its Genoese owner, Tomás Justiniano. After the subdivision and sale of land this zone became are area for the settlement of artisans, farmers and people linked to other trades. This created a type of unitary architecture based on mainly two types: the single-floor terrera house or two-floor housing. The architecture is the same as can be seen in other nearby urban nuclei that were built around the same time: masonry, lime and woodwork, some interesting work involving bearings and panelled doors and windows. It is evident from the preserved examples that not all the architecture of the Villa de Arriba is popular architecture, although it may also be argued that many examples of high architecture in the Villa de Abajo (Lower Town) were not copied in this part of town because of the social demarcation of the two zones.
